Turning leaves into gold: a natural dye workshop

In this workshop we’ll discover the magic of working with locally harvested plants to create vibrant yellows, golds and taupe tones nuanced with mordants.  Participants will learn the fundamental principles of working with natural dyes and will create a dye reference booklet with a range of fibres including, cotton, silk and linen.  Additionally participants will each have the opportunity to hand dye and leave with a silk foulard.

Bring your curiosity and gather in good company.  

All materials will be provided.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available through the day.

You will have a 1 hour to lunch break to refresh and perhaps explore the neighbourhood – which has many cafés and contemporary art galleries.

This is a small group workshop with registration capped at 6 participants. Register early!
